Today I set up a low key 'Comment and Share' promotion on my Facebook Page. Not to boost sales but just for the fun of giving things away. On some level I was also curious for the amount of engagement promotions like this may generate.

When I finished the small artwork (40cmx40cm / 15,7"x15,7") shown below, the thought to give it away on Facebook came up. Not that I didn't like the end result. I do. Very much. But I also liked the idea of getting this piece of work at someones home within 10 days.

To get people just a little bit more involved I asked for a proper name of the artwork. Which I, to be honest, always find an annoying (but still important) part of finishing an artwork.

before Thursday March 31st. On that day I will randomly select one person that will get this fresh unique painting signed and with a personal note attached, delivered to their warm home.

Painting picknick tables at Amsterdam based restaurant Hanneke's Boom

Just a small walk away from Amsterdam Central Station, a hotspot restaurant/bar called ‘Hanneke’s Boom’ serves great, orginal organic food, beer and snacks. They contacted me last Thursday via e-mail and invited me to join a small, 'low key’ live event this Sunday, involving the painting of picknick tables.

Together with other artists blessed with roaring names like 'Hero de Janeiro', 'Ives One’, 'Sjoco Sjon’ and a ‘Adele’, I was invited to paint on untreated picknick tables.

Arriving at Hannekes Boom on this Sunday morning, half an hour late (as a true artist fits), left me puzzled. All the shutters were still closed. But as I waited there for a few minutes, one of the shutters opened and I was shortly greeted by one of the staff. Soon after that Adele (France) and Alexandra (Poland) arrived. Followed in the early afternoon by Dutch street artist and Street Art Awards [http://www.amsterdamstreetart.com] nominee ‘Hero de Janeiro’.

We started painting and although it was cold and rainy, the talkative girls and Hero de Janeiro, together with some music playing laptop Hero brought, coffee and beers, we had a nice afternoon.

Mr. Upside artworks on view in the Hilton Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden

We're happy to announce that eight Mr. Upside artworks are now on view in the Hilton Slussen Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden. Starting from March 2nd until somewhere in April, the exhibition is part of a European tour of the Mr. Upside artworks.

The artworks where delivered to Stockholm, Sweden by a company Bubble Projects. The Dutch company is dedicated to promoting art in Europe. When I was searching for ways to get my artworks in Hamburg, Germany for a group exhibition in the Marziart International Gallery I stumbled upon Bubble Projects.

After a pleasant collaboration where Bubble Projects delivered the artworks to Hamburg, we quickly decided to setup an European Tour in 2016. Stockholm is the first European capital to have the Mr. Upside artworks. See the Exhibitions page for more details on locations and venues.
