Contiguity - 2019
In this new Contiguity collection of paintings, I am inspired by my fascination of how two entities are drawn to each other but still can remain separate, without (barely) touching. It’s the tension of a very delicate (and tender?) touch that strikes me.
Uncomfortable
It’s also the interference of shapes. In my paintings, they sometimes touch and sometimes don’t while still staying close. The shapes sometimes feel a bit awkward and uncomfortable while still radiating a calmness and modesty, a result of meditating every evening.
