Bold Lines - 2016 - 2018
In the Bold Lines collection the paintings are heavily influenced by my graphic design roots. Each painting is made unprepared, almost improvised and set up with any preliminary sketches. It’s a game between the lines and the amount of space they need and the ‘white space’.
Development
During the development of this collection, in the more recent paintings like ‘Cumulus’, the lines have a tendency to evolve into shapes and closed ‘loops’. Those loops instantly get more weight and form more self-aware shapes where, in older paintings each line supports the whole group.
